Personal Course Reel: 
DemTech Highlights


Overview:
For your final capstone project, you will create a Personal Highlights video that showcases your best work from the semester. This is your opportunity to reflect on your growth, present your projects professionally, and celebrate your achievements.


Project Requirements:
  • Total video length: No more than 3 minutes.
  • Opening montage:
    • 10 seconds of clips and/or still images.
    • Set to music (no copyrighted music unless you have rights to use it).
  • Title graphic:
    • Must include your full name, the course name (DemTech), and the video title: "DemTech Highlights".
  • Script:
    • Should run about 2 minutes when read aloud.
    • Summarize and reflect briefly on each major project completed this semester.
    • For each project mentioned, plan a visual to accompany it (either a still image or a short video clip).
  • Clips and visuals:
    • Video clips should be about 10–15 seconds each.
  • On-camera script reading:
    • Record your reading of the script on camera in the podcast suite.
    • Speak clearly and professionally.
  • Export settings:
    • Always export your final video at 1920x1080 resolution (Full HD).

Deadlines:
  • First Draft Due:
    • On the last day of class.
  • Revisions Due:
    • Within 24 hours after receiving feedback.
  • Final Submission:
    • Post your final video on your portfolio page for display during the MAX (our final exam event).
  • MAX Attendance:
    • Attendance is required unless you have a documented conflict with another scheduled exam.

Checklist for Recording Day:
✅ Dress professionally for your on-camera recording session.
✅ Bring your SD card with enough space.
✅ Rehearse your script several times beforehand.
✅ Finalize your script before your recording session.
✅ Gather all images, clips, and visuals once the script is complete.
✅ Double-check that you are exporting all video files at 1920x1080 resolution.

Grading Rubric (15 points total)Content Quality (5 points)
  • Excellent (5 pts): Clear, engaging script that thoughtfully covers all major projects with appropriate visuals.
  • Satisfactory (3 pts): Script covers most major projects but some descriptions are underdeveloped or visuals feel mismatched.
  • Unacceptable (1 pt): Script is incomplete, unclear, or misses key projects; visuals poorly represent the work.
Technical Execution (5 points)
  • Excellent (5 pts): Professional-quality audio and video, smooth editing, visuals and sound are polished; video exported at correct resolution (1920x1080).
  • Satisfactory (3 pts): Minor technical issues (audio slightly unclear, rough edits, small mistakes) but overall understandable and correctly exported.
  • Unacceptable (1 pt): Major technical errors such as poor audio quality, choppy editing, missing visuals, wrong export size or format.
Professionalism & Presentation (5 points)
  • Excellent (5 pts): Confident, polished on-camera presence; rehearsed delivery; dressed appropriately; strong engagement.
  • Satisfactory (3 pts): Minor delivery issues (some hesitation or awkwardness); mostly rehearsed; professional appearance.
  • Unacceptable (1 pt): Unprepared or disorganized presentation; appears unprofessional on camera; little to no rehearsal evident.
